Erikka’s Bio & Archives

Erikka Moojelsky is a Calgary born fashion & costume designer currently living in Kelowna BC. She believes  in supporting local artists and businesses and creating long-life fashion in an eco-conscious way.

Drawn to create from a very young age, Erikka spent her youth pouring over her mother's Vogue magazines and as early as the age of 6, started designing and sewing clothes for her Barbies. She began her first clothing brand at the age of 16 while attending highschool. Exact clothing; created rave wear for club kids.
Sewing and designing is in her blood. Her great grandmother Francesca was a Sicilian dressmaker. Her Russian grandmother Alice taught Erikka sewing basics evenings after school on her old pedal Singer sewing machine.

A strong belief in the power of an eye catching outfit found her seeking out any opportunity to advance her Craft throughout her youth. She completed her Diploma in Fashion from Kootenay School of the Arts in 2009. Education and Knowledge are extremely important to her. In addition to her Fashion Diploma she spent 2 years at Selkirk College, 1 year at The University of Calgary and most recently did her Entrepreneurial Studies at Mount Royal University.

Over the past decade Erikka has focused on her own design and production house – Neid Studio, which has brought her to over half a dozen runway shows. She has been featured in 4 printed publications including A front & back cover of Standout Magazine .
Erikka has worked wardrobe and costume for some of the legends of the music industry such as Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson & Kenny Rogers. She is now working in the Television and Motion Picture industry in the costume department most recently as Costume Set Supervisor with a long term goal of becoming an accredited Costume designer.

Aesthetiks by Erikka Moojelsky ; enabling her to be more art focused as well as spreading a message of Selflove.

Erikka is not someone who believes in disposable fashion. She sees a long-term solution by Combining new fabrics with upcycled elements to help reduce & reuse while creating garments that last. Also her hats are lined with PET fabrics which is a sublimationable fabric created from recycled plastic bottles.

“ Life’s short and we should all be following our dreams and achieving our goals. ”

Erikka feels extremely passionate about her community and giving back to those within it who are in need. Mental Health is a platform close to her heart & she donates $2.50 from every hat to  Kelowna Community Resources - Crisis line.

During COVID19 2020 she began Mending Heart Masks a not for profit that donates homemade masks for free to frontline workers. With the help of a couple volunteers they created over 4500 masks with 2000 donated for free. In Spring 2020, Erikka launched her AesthetiKs mentor program which is a guiding light for highschool students that are feeling out of place with their peers.

Spring 2021 had Erikka setting forward with her passion project, creating a Fashion music & Art studio and store community center . The doors opened in November 2021 for AesthetiKs LAB Kelowna’s inclusive & affordable creative Clubhouse. A place for creatives to flourish. AesthetiKs LAB officially became a Non Profit Organization in March 2022. Making Erikka CEO With a board made up of those who helped her make this dream a reality.

Erikka is well-known for having limitless spirit, along with a generous and creative soul.

“I want to inspire others to dream big and help motivate them to make those dreams become realities.”
